  5. Notes on LORVAD(R)  (formerly Printers Devil) fonts:
  6. OxNard is an outline shadow font with irregular sizing 
  7. and erratic baselines. As a display font it works at 25 pts 
  8. or larger.  Sizes above 50 pts are preferable. Caps only. 
  9. Not kerned.  ShareWare $10
  10. DownWind is a semi psychedelic calligraphic font.  
  11. Works at 20 pts or larger.  Nice for posters.  Contains 
  12. upper & lower case and numbers.  Not kerned.  ShareWare $10
  13. BellBottom is a display font evocative of '60's poster 
  14. art.  Try it at 24 points or larger.  Looks best at 40 pts 
  15. or larger. Contains upper & lower case, numbers and a few 
  16. special characters. Not kerned.Shareware $10.
  17.      Medusa is based on the familiar Art Nouveau font 
  18. Broklin. It's a display font that looks great at 12 points 
  19. or larger. About 170 characters and 100 kerning pairs are 
  20. defined. ShareWare $10
  21. LoopDeLoop is a fun display font.  Its uppercase 
  22. characters are based on the font Bee Line. They have a 
  23. stroked effect simulating a continuous line, looped to 
  24. create each character.  The lowercase characters are a 
  25. solid variation on the shape of the uppercase.  This set 
  26. contains only about sixty characters. There is minimal 
  27. kerning. Looks nice as an opening decorative capital.  
  28. Shareware $10.
  29. Albatross is a text body font with a moderately short 
  30. x-height.  The relative point size is a bit small (i.e. 14 
  31. point is closer to what most people would consider 12 
  32. point).  It contains all the regular characters and many 
  33. special characters.  Shareware $10.
  34. Judas is a display font patterned on Adobe wood type 
  35. Ironwood.  It contains only caps, numbers, and a few 
  36. special characters.  It seems to look best at 16 points or 
  37. larger.  Very interesting negative space  It is 
  38. shareware-$10 (or thirty silver dollars if you want us to 
  39. feel guilty).
  40. LORVAD fonts include: Bodidly Bold, Oswald Black, 
  41. Oswald Grey, BlackForest, InkaBod, CartWright, Judas, 
  42. Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa, BellBottom, DownWind and 
  43. OxNard. 
  44. These fonts are NOT demos.  Unless noted they contain 
  45. all the regular alphanumeric characters. Most contain an 
  46. assortment of special characters.  Fonts contain 
  47. ``hinting''; usually over one hundred kerning pairs are 
  48. defined. AFM files are included for kerned fonts.  Bodidly 
  49. Bold, Oswald Black, Blackforest, Inkabod, CartWright, 
  50. Judas, Albatross, LoopDeLoop, Medusa, Bellbottom, DownWind, 
  51. and Oxnard are type 1 PostScript fonts and may also be used 
  52. with ATM on non-PostScript printers. Oswald Grey, a type 3 
  53. font, may only be used on PostScript printers.  It has an 
  54. 80% grey fill with a black border.  
  55. Bodidly Bold and Oswald Black look great in small or 
  56. large sizes.  I'd recommend using Oswald Grey at 24 points 
  57. or larger.
  58. BlackForest and Inkabod are designed without any 
  59. curves.  With one or two exceptions all angles are 
  60. multiples of 45 degrees.  BlackForest has an old world 
  61. German feel.  It seems to look best about 24 points.  
  62. InkaBod is based on the bitmapped font Nordic. On the 
  63. LaserWriter it looks great at 14 points and above.  On the 
  64. ImageWriter, try it at 18 points and larger.
  65. CartWright is inspired by the Adobe wood type 
  66. Ponderosa font.  It contains only the basic 90+ characters.
  67. The bitmap screenfonts are just your basic 
  68. Fontographer-generated characters with minimal touchup.  
  69. With ATM on the market I'd rather spend my time polishing 
  70. up the PostScript file than slaving over an archaic bitmap 
  71. screenfont.
  72.  LORVAD(R) fonts are distributed in the spirit of 
  73. shareware.  Try them out for a month.  If you decide to 
  74. keep any of these fonts you are required to send a $10 per 
  75. font registration fee to:

  87. group of LORVAD(R) fonts; Fonts may be included on 
  88. collections of Public Domain and Shareware disks providing 
  89. that no more than $10 is charged for the disk.

  93. still required to send in your registration fee if you 
  94. decide to keep them.

  97. in a non-crippled format as long as there is a fair
